Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and the people who operate Hira (“Hira”, “we”, “us”), an unincorporated business. If we form a company to run Hira, it takes over this agreement and we’ll tell you. By creating an account or using Hira at applyhira.com, you agree to these terms and to how we handle your information as described in our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use Hira.

1. Who can use Hira

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. Hira is for your own job search: one account per person, with true information about yourself. You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it. Hira is in a private beta, so access may need an invitation.

2. What Hira does for you

Hira finds job postings, fills in employer applications from the information you give it, and asks you when it doesn’t know an answer. By using Hira, you authorize it to act as your agent on employer and applicant tracking system websites (such as Greenhouse and Workday) to:

You’re responsible for reviewing each application before you approve it. Once an application is submitted, it’s in the employer’s hands and we can’t withdraw or change it. The websites Hira works on have their own terms, which apply to you as their user. Some may limit or block automated tools, and we can’t promise Hira will work on any particular site.

3. Your information must be true

Hira answers only from facts you’ve provided and never invents details about you, but you’re responsible for making sure what you give it, and every application you approve, is accurate and honest. Don’t use Hira to misrepresent yourself or to apply on behalf of anyone else.

4. AI and no guarantees

Hira uses AI models to read your documents, match jobs and draft answers. AI can make mistakes, so check what Hira prepares before you approve it. Hira isn’t an employment agency or recruiter, and it isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by the employers or job sites it works with; their names and logos belong to them. Employers make their own decisions, and we don’t guarantee interviews, offers or any result.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Plans, credits and billing

Starting an application uses one credit. If Hira can’t finish an application, the credit comes back to you automatically. The free plan includes the credits shown in Billing, including a daily credit that doesn’t carry over. We may change what the free plan includes.

Referral credits are earned when a friend joins Hira with your invite. They don’t expire while your account is open, but they have no cash value, can’t be transferred, and end if your account is closed.

Credit packs (10 for $5, 30 for $12, 75 for $25) are one-time purchases. Bought credits don’t expire while your account is open, but they have no cash value, can’t be transferred, and end if your account is closed.

Hira Pro is a subscription that renews automatically. It costs $20 a month (plus any tax) and is charged to your payment method at the start of each monthly period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Billing, which takes you to our payment provider’s portal. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for. If we change the price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

Payments are processed by Stripe, under its own terms. We never see or store your full card number.

7. Refunds

Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund or we charged you by mistake. To ask about a charge, email [email protected] from your account’s email address. Cancelling Pro stops future charges, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

8. Your content

You own the information and documents you give Hira. You let us store, copy, process and send them only as needed to run Hira for you, including sending them to employers when you ask, and to keep Hira secure. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

9. Our service

Hira’s software, design and branding belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use Hira under these terms. We may change, add or remove features, and we’ll try to give notice of changes that matter to you.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using Hira at any time, and delete your account in Settings. Deleting it ends Hira Pro at once, without a refund for the rest of the period. The Privacy Policy says what we keep afterwards. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or that the law requires us to close. Sections 3, 8 and 11 to 14 continue after your account ends.

11. Disclaimer

Hira is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don’t promise that Hira will be uninterrupted, error-free or work on every site.

12. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities, earnings or data. Our total liability for any claim about Hira is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

13. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of information you gave Hira, an application you approved, or your breaking these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.

14. Disputes

California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, please email [email protected] so we can try to resolve it. Any dispute that isn’t resolved will be decided in the state or federal courts located in California, unless it qualifies for small claims court. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you by email or in Hira before it takes effect. Continuing to use Hira after that means you accept the new terms.
